Hands-free voice recognition coming to Kia! The new “UVO” advanced in-car technology system powered by Microsoft will be available in select Kia models early 2011. This new system lets you control not only your Bluetooth enabled cell phone, but also music, temperature and navigation all with sound of your voice.
The new UVO system will make you feel like you’re driving the shuttle. With its voice recognition technology it brings a whole new meaning to the words “hands-free”. With the ability to connect to any MP3 player including iPod and Microsoft Zune through a USB port, you can cruise down the road to your favorite songs. The system also comes standard with a feature called jukebox, you can store about 250 songs in the system itself for quick playback like a virtual CD changer. Providing users with a 4.3 inch touch screen, this system will give you a number of functions with the touch of the screen. With UVO all of your information and media can be found in one place and all accessible with a touch of a button and your voice. Also standard with every UVO system is an onboard backup camera, giving you extra safety when maneuvering your vehicle. Some of the cool features of the new UVO system is the ability to make phone calls with the sound of your voice, the system downloads your entire phonebook and makes placing phone calls very simple. All you have to do is push a button, and speak the name of the person you want to call. Once the system confirms the right person it will place a call for you, all without taking your hands off the wheel.
